EAMRF is a California-based nonprofit organization founded in 2012 to improve access to quality healthcare in Oromia, Ethiopia's largest and most populous region.

The East African Medical Relief Foundation (EAMRF) aims to establish a quality and sustainable medical network that is responsive to the needs of the underserved, vulnerable people of the Oromia region of Ethiopia.

Our Goals

  • Provide

    Provide direct care to as many children and women with heart disease as possible in the short term.

  • Expand

    Expand our work to other cities, hospitals, and health centers in the Oromia region.

  • Reduce

    Reduce infant mortality rate in Oromia Region.

  • Prevent

    Prevent and decrease the spread of infectious disease.

  • Build

    Build a diagnostic and imaging center in Nejo by the year 2020. The proposed diagnostic center will benefit an estimated 1.5-2 million people in the area, and it will be a first for the region.

  • Donate

    Regularly send donated medications, medical/surgical supplies and/or equipment to hospitals in the Oromia region of Ethiopia.

  • Train

    Continually train doctors, surgeons, nurses and other medical staff so that they ultimately can provide basic care for their own people in the community.
